This summer has been crazy, but fun. Just to catch up on things, I’ll give you the highlights. (It’s going to sounds like a Christmas letter, I know. And if things don’t settle down, I just may copy and paste this and print it out on red paper and call it good for December too.)

LANDON, my sweetheart
Landon is busier than he’s ever been. He took a small break from school this summer to expand his Landscaping business. He went from 2 clients to 17. He also works for a Landscaping company for his full-time job which equates to way too much mind spent on grass and flowers! He loves to have his own business and it really drives him to work harder so he will get to be his own boss full-time some day. He is seriously the hardest working person ever. Between his job, his lawns, and church callings, we don’t get to see him very often. It’s hard, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
When Landon’s not thinking of grass (or me) his mind is on BYU football. He’s become even more of a super fan than ever before. He has plans to mow and paint a ‘Y’ into our lawn before the first game. (Pictures will follow!)
HALEY
So, if you haven’t been following me on Facebook or talked to me in the last 4 months, this will come as a shock to you. We’re expecting our 3rd baby in January. We’re excitedly overwhelmed at the thought of having 3 kids. I can hardly believe I’ll have more kids than hands! I’m loving Mommy life, but enjoy the occasional breaks I get. Last week, I went to San Francisco with my Mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. It was there that I really realized again how much I LOVE being a Mommy. I had never been away from both of them for so long and I missed them like crazy! My day revolves around these two amazing spirits and I can’t imagine what my life would be like without them.
I’m still teaching piano and it’s going well. Right now, I have 8 students and that keeps me very busy. Because of my ego being prego, I’m not training for any triathlons. Heck, I feel great if I actually exercise at all! Now that I’m feeling better, I’m really looking forward to getting back to the gym! My next triathlon is going to be the Women of Steel in May.
EASTON, Kindergartener-to-be
Easton is definitely having the most exciting next week out of all of us. He starts Kindergarten and is so beyond excited. He asks me every morning how many days before he starts. I’m going to miss him like crazy and I’m sure I’ll be emotional the first day of school! Easton is so busy and loves to play with his friends. He says the funniest things and so I decided to copy my sister-in-law and start recording the funny things he says on the side of my blog. Mostly for my benefit, but also for your entertainment!
He has had a great summer, with the exception of the loss of his dog, Cosmo. (Technically, it was Landon’s, but not if you ask Easton.) Cosmo was 9 months old and we had only had her since Christmas. Somehow she got tangled in a tarp that was covering her kennel and strangled herself. It was a pretty traumatic thing for our little family, but Easton was the rock the entire time. He tells us that Cosmo is playing Frisbee with Jesus. He knows that we will get to see Cosmo again, but just today was whining that it was taking so long for Jesus to come again so we can see her. He is such a wonderful little boy!
AVERIE, my sweet little spit-fire and sooo 2
Averie is really coming into her own and I’m not exactly enjoying every minute of it. She’s learned to scream and if she gets mad, she automatically says “Easton hit me” even if Easton’s not in the same room. They usually play really good together and she’s content to follow him around and do whatever he’s doing. We just moved her to a toddler bed (sigh) and she looks like such a big girl in it. She’s very motherly to her dolls and loves to “rock-a-rock” them in her room. She loves to be sung to and is great at learning the words so she can sing along. Her current favorites include: “the ducky song” (five little ducks went out to play), “kids” (safety kids CD), “Temple” and Scripture Power. My favorite past time with Averie is doing her hair. I doubt she’d say the same, but she’s usually really good about letting me do it. It’s really thin so I think I’ll probably be cutting it soon, but I’m going to enjoy it while it’s there.
Well, that about does it. Now you’re all caught up on our lives, that is for those of you who dared to read such a l-o-n-g post. (thanks Mom!) Now I can get back to just blogging about the random things that happen in our lives and I promise they’ll be much shorter posts and will include pictures (as soon as I find my camera!)
