"I'll Be Home For Christmas"

So, I should totally either be folding laundry, preparing my sharing time for Sunday or be asleep right now, but thus, here I am. Those require a much greater amount of energy than just striking some keys on a keyboard. (That and I have told SO many people that I will be blogging more and I don't think that once every 6 weeks is going to suffice.)
We had such an amazing December and enjoyed Landon's time at home so much. I now LOVE the Christmas songs "I'll be Home for Christmas" and "All I want For Christmas is You" (K, the latter, I admit is somewhat annoying, but if get you past the jazzer-size element, the words are great and so true!)
We had planned to just hang out and not do anything while Landon was home and that's exactly what we did . . . or didn't do. Our Christmas break consisted of movies, snuggling, sleeping in, going on some dates, family parties, and of course some honey-do's. It was so wonderful to have Landon here for the holidays and I really cannot imagine having to "celebrate" without him. I am toast if/when he gets deployed!

It didn't take Boston long to warm up to his Daddy!

Some of the Young Men that Landon worked with in YM's put up these flags the night he came home. They even put spotlights on them so they could be seen better. So sweet!!

The morning Landon left.

We'll have to do an "after" picture of Landon and Boston when Landon gets home because Boston will be the one that will change the most while Landon's away.

This was us at the airport when I took him to go back. It didn't really hit me until we were standing in the line for security (I got to go back with him to the gate and wait with him until his plane left.) and the tears started a flowin!!

I get to go back to South Carolina in 1 month and 2 days (not that I'm counting) to see him graduate. I cannot wait to see him again!! After that, he will go to Texas for AIT (Advanced Individual Training) where he will learn how to be a medic. He graduates AIT May 31st and that's when the real adventure begins when we move where ever the Lord wants us.

Averie was explaining the color of her horse and she said that it has gray "clip clops" meaning hooves.
She also called her "high heels" tip taps" because she loves the way they sound when she walks.

After Landon asked Easton why he was such a good kid, Easton matter of factly says "cuz I say my prayers like every night."

After explaining to Easton that we were going to have chips and salsa as PART of our lunch, he says "that would just be wierd to have it on the side of your lunch." No doubt this is Landon's doing.

While listening to Brittney Spears on the radio, Easton said he wants to be a football player or a drummer when he grows up. Then he added "or a back-up dancer."

After the leaving the child care at my boot camp/exersize class, which is in a Catholic church, Averie tells me that someone threw a Book of Mormon at her. Guess we better start doing more family scripture study out of the Bible.

"My mom uses the oven for five seconds with salt and pepper and sauce."

After seeing a balloon stuck on the cold air return vent, Easton tells Averie that he's making the balloon do that with "the force." He says "I can even do it with my eyes." staring intently at the balloon.

While eating gummy worms while driving through Nebraska, Easton says "these Nebraska worms are pretty good."

While we kneeling down to say family prayer and Easton asked me why we pray. I told him it's so we can feel closer to Heavenly Father to which he replied "Oh yeah, some say that Heaven is far away, but I feel it close around me as I pray."

I was telling Easton that Jimmer won't be playing for BYU anymore.
Easton: "So Jimmer won't be a cougar anymore?"
Me: "No, he's going to be playing in California."
Easton looking concerned: "Is Cosmo still going to be a Cougar?" Me: "Yes, Cosmo will always be a Cougar." Followed by a huge look of relief on Easton's face.

Easton while running out of the door to go to the park: "I call shotgun."
Me: "We're not driving, we're walking."
Easton with a confused look on his face: "No, I call the shotgun!"

While riding in the car, I said something to Landon and the kids like "that's not going to work folks" to which Averie replied "Mom, we not folks!"

While we were at the Dr's office, a nurse who knows Landon and I said to Averie "tell your Daddy hi for me, okay?" to which she replied "hi" right back to her.

After wondering how much Easton is learning in Kindergarten he said to me last night "Mom, do you even KNOW what at title page is?" and this morning he said "Mom, you just made a prediction."
