We found out when we moved to Kentucky that not only do they have all-day Kindergarten, they do Pre-school in the same school as Easton goes to, It's a Pre-K-3rd grade school. Although I was excited that I didn't have to worry about finding a preschool to send her to, I was less than thrilled with the idea of her being with all those "big" kids. They keep the pre-K kids separate from all the other kids, including at recess and they got to start almost 2 weeks later than Easton did. Her teachers (her teacher and an assistant, who's always in the class) came to our house for a home visit to make Averie more comfortable with coming to school. I'm sure visiting each student's home is not a super easy thing for the teachers to do, but I sure appreciated it and felt like it helped a lot. Averie was so excited for her first day of school that she didn't have any problems leaving Mom and Boston. It sure was weird coming home and putting Boston down for a nap and then being alone, but I'm not gunna lie, it's been nice so far. (Don't tell Averie that though, K?)

Can't you just feel her excitement? |

This was on Easton's first day of Kindergarten. She was already excited for her first day back then I can't believe how much she's grown since then! So darling! |
 |
We wanted to walk to school (since we live so close), but it was pouring rain when it was time to go. Good thing Grandma Paxman had accessorized her with a darling umbrella just in case! :) |
 |
We saw Easton in the cafeteria eating lunch when we took Averie into the school. Of course, I couldn't resist getting a pic of both my school kids. |

This was the moment of truth (aka when she had to leave Mommy and go into class.) Clearly she didn't have ANY problems saying goodbye. With her being so excited, I couldn't help but be excited for her too.
No tears for either of us! |
