Pax-Ca Mo-Mo's Thanksgiving 2012

We had the BEST Thanksgiving this year because we had the BEST visitors ever. My sister and her family, brother and his family and Mom and Dad all came out to Kentucky for Thanksgiving. (Thus the Pax-Ca Mo-Mo's=Paxman's, Castillo's Monsen's, Morrill's) Because there were so many of us (8 adults and 14 kids), we had to have most of the buddies sleep at a hotel here on post. We played musical beds most nights, so the cousins all got to spend the night with everyone. I've missed being Aunt Haley and was more than happy to have sleepovers.

We did lots of fun things when everyone was here. Our numbers would have been out of place even in Utah, so you can imagine the looks we got when we went places in here. It was pretty funny. It was crazy fun!! We went the Science Center, the Louisville Temple, Churchill Downs, the Patton Museum and the rest of the time, the kids had a blast playing outside (yay for warm weather) and the adults had a blast inside. We played games at night and let the kiddos watch movies. We ate way too much junk and didn’t get enough sleep, but had the BEST time doing it.

Because of our numbers, we decided to have Thanksgiving at a building here on post instead of at our house. (It’s kinda like a club house.) Because we had more room and lots of food, we invited some guys from Landon’s platoon and our neighbors who didn’t have family close by to enjoy the holiday with.

Of course, the ladies went shopping on black Thursday night/Friday morning. We had so much fun pretending to talk like southerners and probably made ourselves look like fools more times than not. I don’t know what in the world I’m going to do next year when I don’t have my girls with to shop.

When it was finally time for the party to end, we were very sad to see everyone leave. It made me homesick for the next little while because I had forgotten how much I missed having family around. We’re all looking forward to next summer for the next Pax-Ca Mo-Mo Adventure.
