Yesterday was a rough morning and a day I wasn’t sure I loved being the Mommy of a little boy. I was still in bed when Easton woke up, which doesn’t happen very often, but we had had a late night the night before. Anyway, like he always does, he came and got in my bed and snuggled with me for a bit. He wanted to watch a movie, so I told him that he could as soon as he went potty. (We’ve been having wetting the bed issues lately, so I was so proud that he had stayed dry and excited that I didn’t have to wash bedding.) So there I was lying in bed when I hear something that sounds like water splashing up against the wall. Next, I hear it splashing against the garbage can bag and I wonder to myself if Easton turned the water on. Then I hear the “water” on the toilet and it finally clicks that it isn’t water at all. I run into the bathroom and the first thing Easton says is “I peed a lot, Mom.” He had peed all over the wall, the garbage can and the toilet. I asked him why he didn’t sit down to go potty (I potty trained him sitting down to avoid situations just like I’ve described.) He tells me that Jerick, his cousin, doesn’t sit down when he goes potty. Apparently he decided to try it out for himself. Oh the joys of having a boy!!

You've got to LOVE boys... gross! His aim will get better and disinfectant wipes will become your friend. He's sweet to give you flowers :)

Ya, the flowers were cute. However, he picked them out of my flower garden in the front yard. That's another post altogether :)
When Brenten was certain he had to stand, I kept a cup of cherios on the counter. (I had to specify that these were NOT for eating) He could put one in the toilet and then he had to try and sink it. It totally worked.
I laugh because I don't have boys.
I think it's a little hard from them to control it in the morning! Is that saying too much? Oh well, you got my opinion. You will have to start scrubbing places you never imagined it could get to! And sitting down doesn't avoid it altogether either! OK, that's enough--good luck. Boys are so much fun though.
Haley! How's it going? I see you found our blog... That's funny about your boy. You would THINK it would be easier to aim as a little kid since you are so much closer to the toilet! I remember being a little boy like that...
Seriously that is DISGUSTING! It looks like you have another "boy" story to share after yesterday :)
I have PLENTY of targets if you need some!! That is exactly how TotShot was invented you know!! Love you, and your BOY too! Mom Castillo
