Are you surprised? . . . . Part Three

Why oh why did I even mention the possibility of a “part three” to this post. Of course, I should’ve known it would happen. This morning Easton flooded the toilet. I don’t even have anything clever to say about it. There just aren’t words . . . It’s just a good thing that I really do love being a Mommy and that I know I will look back and laugh at these times!

The real reason for this post is to get some input from my fellow bloggers. For those of you who don’t know, I’m starting my first piano teaching next week. I’ve played for years, but never taught. I’m kinda nervous about making it a good experience for my students. I thought I would ask all of you about your experiences with piano lessons (or any other kind of lessons). I want to know what you did and/or didn’t like about it.(and no, practicing doesn’t count as something you didn’t like) What did your teachers do that you liked and what did they do that you didn’t like etc. Thanks for your help and stay tuned for part four or hopefully boring details of a very uneventful next week.

Bright, shiny sticker stars on the pages you do really good on. Way to go Haley!! I guess I didn't know how proficient you were on the piano. That's great. I wish you all the best. Just don't yell at the kids when they don't do good.
And I think Easton is just trying ot get your attention like BEFORE Avery was born, just needs some lovin'. Your doing great.

I never got to have piano lessons and wanted them so bad. It seems like everyone thinks piano was drudgery. Seems like practice time when they're not with you needs some help ot keep them excited.

You'll be a great piano teacher! I took piano for nine years and had 5 different teachers. When I was young, I hated theory so when one of my teachers offered a surprise (little toy or treat) when i would prove that I understood the concept, I studied. I hated that one of my teachers would bang on the piano to keep me from playing faster than the beat. And my grandma was one of my teachers (juliard grad) and she was my favorite because I love her so much :) I could go on and on, but I won't. Good Luck!

You will do awesome. Sorry about the toilet. I loved that my teachers always found music that would be interesting to me. I have a ton of sheet music if you would like to look at it ever. Also my friend Jennie Southworth (that is what she is under my blog) she teaches lessons and has for years. She actually writes and records etc her own stuff and has had her music in movies. Pretty cool. anyway I bet if you ask her questions you have on her blog she would definately give you input. If you are interested that is. You will have to let us know how your lessons go.

Haley, had to stop by your blog to say hi. COOL that you are teaching piano. I loved piano lessons. My teacher was so good and taught us theory and composers and technique so we were well rounded. This will be a great chance for you to brush up on your skills as well. I am so rusty, i really miss it! good luck to you. and way to go sharing your talents with others.
